Owner Spotlight: Steve Hopkinson
I did not find the real estate business, but rather in 1999, it found me when I was busy marketing fitness programs to corporate tenancies. While marketing, I opened a relationship with one of the world’s largest commercial real estate groups, CB Richard Ellis, and made a presentation that unaware to me was an audition for the company.
Since then, I have worked with and been mentored by million-dollar producers in real estate niches and channeled my knowledge and education into a fun, and exciting, independent sales career with Right At Home Realty.
I recently ventured into the mortgage industry to help people avoid costly mortgage mistakes while creating long-term wealth with real estate investments. My experience in the real estate industry has given me a superior level of understanding, and I focus on bringing value that lasts.
The part of my mortgage business that I find most enjoyable is the many connections I am able to develop with my clients. I recognize the challenges and setbacks, relate to the rollercoaster that is business success, and strive to ensure my clients always get the mortgage assistance they deserve.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others are my daily actions and the positive way I handle the challenges that come at me. I never have a bad day. Instead, I have character-building days that prepare me to handle challenging situations that are bound to arise tomorrow. This said, in the end, it’s not about me. It’s about how I can serve my clients and change their life for the better.
I attribute my success to my resilience, never-say-die attitude, and will to never give up.
Those moments when I am working through a challenge, I put aside all the noise and have a heart-to-heart conversation with my clients to ensure I’m on the right track. This approach has given me immense satisfaction over the years. They remind me it’s not always about numbers and bricks and mortar. It’s about people, my clients, and my friends.
When I am not at work, I stay busy with several other projects and have a wide range of interests. I am a dedicated student of personal development, a certified personality dimensions facilitator, a licensed speaking coach, and an award-winning speaker. Recently, I have committed to a new level of health, diet, and fitness through an intense twelve-week program of running and weights. This newfound consistency has added a new element of strength to my life, ensuring mental, physical, and spiritual growth.
I also believe in giving back to society and, as part of that belief, assist individuals in finding their voice through their personal stories. I think everyone has this power as long they believe in themselves.
